LASEK stands for ‘Laser Epithelial Keratomileusis’. With this technique the superficial layer of epithelial cells is loosened up from the cornea under the shape of a very thin small flap that is rolled up. After laser treatment it is put back on its spot. |
 This method offers the advantage that the wound is covered up after the intervention with an ultra thin epithelial flap. This results in a quicker healing and less possibility of haze forming . |
