Correction of myopia, presbyopia and astigmatism with the help of the EXCIMER laser.

This technique is being used since 1993 and applied by Dr. Van Aerde. The technological evolution since this date has broadened considerably the field of application of this treatment.

The Excimer laser produces rays in the ultra violet spectrum. This allows grinding the cornea in order to change the strength of refraction and to rectify the refraction abnormality.

The Excimer is used in three different manners:

PRK : this treatment technique is suitable for myopia till –9 dioptre, far-sightedness till +5 dioptre, astigmatism till 5-dioptre average. (For more information regarding this technique click here).
